"Having just completed the Centaus Internship I am very pleased with my progress during the past three months. The audience and venue research project provided me with the freedom needed to produce a successful project and analysis. This opportunity has given me a deeper practical knowledge of technical computing skills using coding, using online research tools for wider marketing purposes, launching a record label and practical experiences with video social media and tools.
During my time at Cenatus I was always valued as a core member of staff where my opinions were taken on board daily. This experience would suit anyone wanting to take their first steps into industry or to refine their current skills as I did."
Jenna Jones was completing an internship with Cenatus from January 2010 to April 2010. As a researcher for our Netaudio London festival, she will be evaluating the impact of the internet in the world of making and consuming music in a project in partnership with Sound and Music (SAM).
As Director of Ghosttown Promotions Jenna has produced music and arts events nationally over the last five years. The Coventry based independent production company saw the launch of electronic arts festival ‘Sonic Boom’ in the spring of 2007. The success of this, not only saw an impromptu set from the amazing Grace Jones and Robert Logan, but also led to the production of a much larger three day festival, A Thing About Machines. The festival was produced with co-curator Cormac Faulkner at Sonic Graffiti. The project recieved funding from the Arts Council England, PRS new music foundation and was supported by The Herbert Art Gallery, Artspace and Coventry University MA Department.
Jenna’s past experience includes head of marketing at non-for-profit music and arts centre Taylor John’s House in Coventry. The restored coal vault venue is also the hub for Tin Angel Records. The label has released albums with Polar Bear, Devon Sproule, Baby Dee, Black Carrot and Paul Curreri. This experience, along with her own productions and university music events, has led to an avid passion for live music event production.
